Sadly, the only way to keep a top-notch breeding program and improve the quality of colored angora goats is to cull animals that do not meet the highest standards of CAGBA.  Only our best animals are kept in the breeding program and offered for sale to interested breeders.  As a result, we occasionally have some beautiful hides for sale. Pricing depends on size and tanning costs. Measurements are shortest dimensions of leather - I can send photos of backs on request.

Our yarns and rovings are always produced in small lots from our own animals, making each lot unique for one-of-a-kind garments.  Dyed yarns are all natural dyes, many from our own garden, and change with the flowers from season to season.  E-mail judy@ferncrestfarm.com for availability.

Yarns can be wound into balls for the hand knitter on request.  Average yardage is 850 yds/lb.   Most yarns are 70% mohair, 30% wool.  This is a lofty, soft yarn with that great mohair halo. 

Our sturdy, lustrous rug yarn is 60% adult mohair, 40% wool, single ply.  It makes excellent rugs and knits like Lopi.

Rovings

We have a variety of 70% mohair / 30% wool blended pencil rovings for the handspinner.  Currently available:

Natural brown kid, white, black, and silver gray.  Rovings are $2/oz or $28/lb.
