Mini Cattle
Home

We are finding our way with our miniature cattle, after our second year of calving, herding, housing, and repairing lots of the old fencing!    We are beginning to see the many benefits of these little guys.  Our bulls are so manageable I can allow children to feed them - the cows are producing the perfect amount of milk and meat for a small family.  Steers are mature at 2 yrs., averaging 600 lbs. of beef in the freezer, and it has been the best beef we have ever eaten.

Butterball is a 3 yr. mini Jersey/Sundog.  A great  mini-milker bull. - Not a mean bone in his little body. $700

Bizbee, a registered Zebu,  sired several beautiful calves last year. He has also been bucked. A pistol in the chutes, but a sweetie in the pasture. $700

Bill is now a 2 year old steer (son of Sigorney) - $700

Rosie is a Zebu/Corriente, 2 year old heifer. Curious and friendly $700

Scarlet & daughter Belle, Highland crosses - Scarlet, (a Y7 Scottie daughter) is also bred to Butterball. $900 each.

Sigorney (also a Y7 Scottie daughter) bred to Butterball, $900

Our Jersey, Bess, was real rescue effort - After life on a dairy farm, she was a nurse cow to 4 calves at once, leaving her extremely underweight with terrible feet. Being a small Jersey, I wanted her for the mini program. She is now a healthy old girl!  Last year she produced our next dairy bull, Rocky, (1/2 mini Durham) and gave us 4 gal. a day - I made a lot of cheese!  This year she is bred to Butterball- hope for a heifer!!!

Ada Jane is a registered mini Durham, giving us 1 gal a day, and beautiful calves. She is bred back to Butterball again. Her heifer calf this year is sweet as can be!

Tiny was only 13 lbs at birth! She is now the farm mascot, in charge of taming calves and stealing hearts. Chip is 18 months and 38" tall!  He will in training this summer for driving - a sweet little oxen - son of Butterball x Oreo.
