We are finding our way with our miniature cattle, after
our third year of calving, herding, housing, and repairing lots of the old
fencing! We are beginning to see the many benefits of
these little guys. Our bulls are quite manageable - the cows are producing the perfect amount of milk and meat for a
small family. Steers are mature at 2 yrs., averaging 300-400 lbs. of beef
in the freezer, and it has been the best beef we have ever eaten. We
currently have breeding stock and heifer calves for sale.
Trained and fresh milk cows are the goal. We'll keep you posted.

Butterball has sired many of our current stock. A
Mini Jersey/Sundog cross, he has passed a great disposition and
small size. |
Rocky is our young bull on duty these days. He is a
Jersey/Durham cross, giving us the small all-around homestead cow
with milk, beef, and small size. |

Roxanne is a two year heifer (Scarlet daughter) and already a
sweetheart to manage. She is bred to Rocky and will make an
excellent milker. |
Ada Jane is a registered mini Durham, giving us 1
gal a day, and beautiful calves. She is bred back to Rocky, after
giving us a beautiful bull calf from Butterball this Spring. |

Charlotte loves the cat, but he's not so sure about her! |
Our yearling girls at dinnertime. Halter training is in
progress . Each day these pony sized cows are led to the yard to mow
and handled. I have learned that early handling is much easier
than the rodeo of training a grown cow! |
